PDS™ II Violet Monofilament Suture, Size 2/0, 27", with a CP-2 needle, is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of polydioxanone. It is designed to provide extended tensile strength and predictable absorption for soft tissue approximation and ligation. The violet coloration enhances visibility during surgical procedures, and its monofilament structure ensures minimal tissue drag and a smooth passage through tissue layers.

The suture offers high initial tensile strength, retaining approximately 80% at 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks, and 60% at 6 weeks post-implantation. This extended strength retention is suitable for tissues that require prolonged support during the healing process. The monofilament design reduces capillarity, limiting the potential for fluid and bacterial absorption.

Equipped with a CP-2 reverse cutting needle, the suture is designed for efficient penetration through dense or fibrous tissues. Its sharp cutting edge and 3/8 circle curvature improve handling, precision, and control during suturing, enhancing procedural efficiency and patient outcomes.
